Position Summary
The Senior Director of Development works closely with the Incarnate Word Academy President to execute a comprehensive development program that increases philanthropic support for the school.
This role is responsible for strengthening the annual giving program, managing leadership-level donors, and supporting institutional fundraising priorities through donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
The Senior Director of Development is a hands-on fundraiser who focuses on attracting new donors, renewing and upgrading current donors, and increasing overall annual fund participation, while providing leadership for advancement operations and collaboration across the school community.
As Incarnate Word Academy’s advancement efforts continue to grow, this role is expected to evolve in scope and responsibility. The Senior Director of Development will have the opportunity to expand leadership capacity, deepen fundraising strategy, and help shape the future direction of the advancement program.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with the President to implement and advance IWA’s comprehensive development strategy, aligning fundraising efforts with institutional priorities and annual goals.
- Manage a portfolio of leadership-level donors and prospects, personally identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts of $1,000 and above to meet established fundraising targets.
- Lead the annual giving program, including planning and execution of annual fund appeals, donor acquisition and renewal strategies, stewardship efforts, and select fundraising events.
- Develop and execute strategies to grow donor participation, with an emphasis on increasing the number of annual donors and strengthening relationships with current supporters.
- Support major fundraising events and initiatives, including our annual gala, by facilitating donor cultivation and solicitation to meet or exceed sponsorship, Fund-A-Need, and attendance goals.
- Provide strategic input and direction for development communications, collaborating on print, digital, social, and video content that supports fundraising and donor engagement.
- Collaborate with the Director of Communications and Director of Admissions to supply data, student outcomes, alumnae stories, and other content needed for donor communications, stewardship, social media, and website updates.
- Oversee the accurate and timely processing, allocation, recording, and acknowledgement of all gifts.
- Oversee advancement operations and staff, including supervision of the Advancement Assistant-Database Manager, Manager of Special Events/Admissions Associate, and Manager of Alumnae Engagement.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, with a minimum of 5-7 years of development experience.
- Demonstrated success in soliciting leadership-level gifts of $1,000 and above.
- Experience implementing nonprofit fundraising strategies, including annual giving and special events.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Fluency with donor tracking software and social media platforms; proficiency with Raiser's Edge NXT preferred.
- Talented team leader and team participant, adept at working with staff members with diverse skills, gifts, expertise, and experience.
Compensation:
Salary: $90,000 - $100,000

Athletics:
Athletic Trainer
Reports To
• Director of Athletics
• School Administration (e.g. Principal or Dean of Students)
• In some cases, oversight or collaboration with school nurse/health services
Position Summary
The Athletic Trainer at Incarnate Word Academy supports the health, safety, and well‐being of
student-athletes by providing assessment, injury prevention, immediate care, rehabilitation, and
education. The trainer will work closely with coaches, physicians, and school leadership to
deliver high quality sports medicine services that align with IWA’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
Injury Prevention & Conditioning
• Design and implement injury prevention programs (stretching, strengthening, warm-ups,
cool-downs) for all varsity, junior varsity, and club sports
• Monitor conditioning, biomechanics, and movement patterns, recommending
modifications to training loads
• Educate athletes and coaches on safe training practices, sport-specific precautions, and
proper equipment use
Assessment & Immediate Care
• Provide on-site evaluation and initial care of athletic injuries during practices, games, and
tournaments
• Administer first aid, emergency care, and stabilization when necessary
• Determine when further medical referral is required and coordinate transport, if necessary
• Maintain emergency action plans (EAPs), concussion protocols, and return-to-play
procedures
Rehabilitation & Reconditioning
• Develop, supervise, and update individualized rehabilitation programs for injured athletes
• Track progress, adjust protocols, and document outcomes
• Collaborate with physical therapists, orthopedists, and other allied health providers
• Facilitate safe return-to-play decisions in consultation with medical professionalsMedical & Administrative Duties
• Maintain accurate medical records, injury logs, and treatment plans in compliance with
school and regulatory policies
• Stock, organize, and replenish medical and therapy supplies and equipment
• Oversee taping, bracing, modalities (e.g., therapeutic ultrasound, electrical stimulation),
and other modalities as needed
• Assist with pre-season physical examinations, medical screenings, and paperwork (e.g.,
medical history, release forms)
• Ensure compliance with state high school athletic association (MSHSAA) rules regarding
athlete medical clearance
Collaboration & Education
• Serve as a resource to coaches on issues relating to sports medicine, safe training loads,
injury recognition, and return-to-play guidelines
• Conduct periodic workshops or in-services for coaching staff, athletic department, and
student-athletes
• Coordinate with academic staff to monitor injured athletes’ academic accommodations
during recovery
• Liaise with parents, guardians, external medical providers, and insurance as needed
Game & Travel Support
• Provide on-site medical coverage at all home games, matches, and meets
• Travel with teams (as schedule demands) to provide athletic training support at away
competitions
• Assist in planning logistics and transport of medical supplies for off-site events
Additional Duties
• Assist the Athletic Director with related tasks (e.g. scheduling, risk management)
• Stay current on best practices, certifications, and continuing education in sports medicine
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of the athletic program’s excellence
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Certification
• Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or related field
(Master’s preferred)
• Certification by the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (ATC) or equivalent
• State licensure or credentialing to practice as an athletic trainer in Missouri
• Current CPR/AED, First Aid, and Emergency Response certification
• Additional certifications (e.g. concussion management, ACL prevention, return-to-play)

Experience
• Experience working with adolescent or high school athletes
• Familiarity with a range of sports (e.g. volleyball, basketball, cross country, tennis,
soccer, track, swimming, softball) — Incarnate Word Academy fields many of these
sports.
• Experience in acute care, rehabilitation, and athletic training coverage at games/events
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with coaches, athletes, parents, and
medical professionals
