Dear Incarnate Word Academy Families,

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year at IWA!  I would like to introduce you to the food service provider at IWA--BIRCH CULINARY CO.  I founded Birch with a single goal:  To provide a well-balanced and nutritious food offering using real food made by real chefs.  It is my goal to ensure our food is made using the freshest foods available while being prepared by culinary-trained chefs and cooks. 

The COVID-19 pandemic certainly presents some unique challenges for the beginning of the school year.  Working with the IWA administration, we intend to face these challenges head-on in order to ensure the safest and most effective food service program possible.  Simply put, we will provide a food service program while also keeping IWA students and staff and the employees of Birch Culinary as safe as possible.  We are following the established operations guidelines from the CDC as well as those put into place by St. Louis County.  Although we will be providing a smaller daily menu, there will still be choices for students.  We are also implementing a pre-ordering and pre-payment system to help mitigate exposure while maintaining the health and safety of IWA students and staff and the employees of Birch Culinary during service and distribution of food. 


For our new IWA families, I would also like to introduce you to our online meal payment system and partner--My School Bucks. My School Bucks offers a quick and easy way to manage and monitor your daughter’s food service account.  You can add to the account using a variety of devices as well as track purchases, monitor the account balance, and load funds. Although we do accept cash or checks as payment on the account, we encourage you to utilize My School Bucks for your convenience.  And, although we will accept cash or checks as payment on student accounts during the current pandemic, we strongly encourage and ask you to utilize My School Bucks for your convenience and the safety of everyone involved.  We are working with IWA to put into place a safe means for payments not made on the My School Bucks system.  


  1. ALL new families will be asked to setup an account, even if you choose not to fund it electronically.  

  2. Using an internet browser, navigate to and register for an account. Or, you can download the mobile app. There is no fee to register.  A confirmation e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address that you are asked to provide. 

  3. Click on the link included in the confirmation e-mail to activate your account.

  4. Activate your account and begin adding the requested information related to your IWA student.  You will also need the SCHOOL NAME and YOUR IWA STUDENT’S DATE OF BIRTH (or IWA STUDENT ID#).

  5. You may begin funding your student’s account as early as WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 5, 2020.
