Teri Clemens ~ Red Knight Champion

Teri Clemens was varsity volleyball coach and athletic director at Incarnate Word Academy from 1979-1985. Once Teri walked into the gym at IWA as coach, success prevailed for the Red Knights. Within the six years she coached at IWA, an overall record of 119-12 was achieved and three consecutive state titles were captured in the years 1982, 1983 and 1984. Coach Clemens continued amazing success at Washington University. As head volleyball coach from 1985-1999, Teri’s overall collegiate record was 560-59 and during that time her teams secured seven NCAA III Championships for the University. Teri holds the highest winning percentage in NCAA volleyball history at 88% which includes both men and women. Under her coaching and leadership, nine national players, eighteen All-American players, nine Academic All American players and one NCAA top eight winner were produced. Her awards include: six time National AVCA Coach of the Year, USA Olympic Program National Coach of the Year and an All Century Sports Achiever. She has been inducted to: the AVCA Hall of Fame, Washington University Athletic Hall of Fame and the Truman State University Hall of Fame. She has published numerous educational and athletic magazines and has authored several books. Coach Clemens is now a motivational speaker and has spoken in thirty-eight states. Teri resides in O’Fallon with her husband, Tom. They have six children ranging from the ages of sixteen to twenty four.
