After receiving her BSN degree from St. Louis University and a certificate in Theology Studies from Loyola University in Chicago, it seemed only natural to weave these two passions together. For over 30 years, Sister Judy Carron has been caring for children with complex medical illnesses at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center. In 1999, she was instrumental in the vision and development of the FOOTPRINTS program---a program of advocacy and support for children with serious illnesses and their families. Today, Sr. Judy continues to share her expertise with healthcare providers as the Care Coordinator. Sr. Judy also served as Director of Pastoral Care and Chair of the Ethics Committee at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center. She is a current member of the Ethics and
Mission Awareness Teams at the Medical Center. In 2008, Sr. Judy received The Women of the Well Leadership Award. The Women of the Well is a group of small programs led by Catholic sisters and lay women who are implementing the most innovative and creative solutions to the challenges in the community. Collectively, they work together to raise resources for programs, and engage more deeply in the work of Catholic women by lending time and treasure.
Sister Judy celebrates her 50th year as a Sister of Mercy and continues to serve God’s people with grace and love.
