CARE Team

The Incarnate Word Academy CARE Team was formed to address student needs that go beyond academics. The CARE Team is compromised of the Academic/Emotional Counselor, College Counselor, Learning Consultant, Mission Coordinator, Director of Leadership and Diversity, the Dean of Students, the Principal and one to two faculty members.

A student can be referred to the CARE Team by any staff member or IWA Community Member.  When a referral is made, it is presented to the team and then any information needed is gathered. Every student referral is different, but the team considers academics, discipline, behavior, health, performance, appearance and activities. Interventions are decided upon and communicated with the appropriate people.

The IWA CARE team meets every other week throughout the academic year.
