Nevaeh Caffey, Incarnate Word basketball
The reigning Post-Dispatch All-Metro girls basketball player of the year, Caffey was named tournament MVP as Incarnate Word (7-0) won the Visitation Christmas Tournament for the seventh consecutive season and 15th time in 17 years. Caffey closed the tournament by scoring a season-high 23 points in a 65-47 victory against Lift for Life in the title game, improving Incarnate Word’s winning streak to 138 consecutive games, furthering the all-time record for Missouri girls basketball teams. She averaged 19.8 points in four tournament victories and made 12 of 17 of her 3-point attempts. For the season, Caffey is averaging 17.9 points, three rebounds, 2.4 steals and 2.3 assists per game and has made 14 of 20 of her 3-pointers. A 5-foot-10 senior guard and four-year varsity player, Caffey has signed to continue her career at Indiana University.
