Alex Baer ’08 has been selected as the Varsity Soccer Head Coach at Incarnate Word Academy and Jeff Muhr has been selected as the Associate Head Coach. The selection of this new coaching team was announced by Dan Rolfes, athletic director at IWA. “We are excited to share the news that we have selected Alex Baer and Jeff Muhr as our next Varsity Soccer head coaches. They bring a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge of the game to Incarnate Word Academy. I am confident that they will continue to build on the long tradition of success in the soccer program here at IWA,” Rolfes said.

Alex Baer played Varsity Soccer all four years at IWA and was one of four captains of the 2008 State Championship Team. She attended Indiana University Purdue University in Indianapolis (IUPUI) and played Division I soccer all four years. She completed her IUPUI career ranked second on the program's all-time list of games played. In 2009, she was a member of the IUPUI Women’s Soccer Team to earn the first NCAA Division I Tournament berth in school history. Alex’s vast amount of coaching experience includes tenures with both St. Louis Scott Gallagher and Sporting St. Louis. She currently serves as the social and emotional counselor at the school.

Jeff Muhr has 28 years of coaching experience, including 15 spent at the high school level. In 2004, Muhr led the Red Knights to a State Championship victory as Head Coach at IWA. Muhr currently serves as the Director of Coaching & Player Development for the Missouri Youth Soccer Association (MYSA.) His responsibilities at MYSA include: oversight of the Olympic Development Program (ODP), coaching education, and special programming. In addition, he is both the founder and Director of Coaching for the St. Louis Hawks FC. Muhr is also a two-time IHSSCA finalist for Coach of the Year and a NSCAA national finalist for Coach of the Year.
