There was Much to Celebrate at the President and Principal Installation Ceremony!

The Installation Ceremony for Mr. David L. McKenzie as President of Incarnate Word Academy and Mrs. Maureen Hayes Lovette ’93 as Principal of Incarnate Word Academy was held on January 27, 2018. The event was attended by students, parents, faculty, staff, members of the IWA Board of Trustees, community leaders, and Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word.
Monsignor Michael E. Turek, Pastor of Christ the King Parish, began with an opening prayer. Members of the Marian Choristers, Circle Honors Choir, and Chamber Music Ensemble provided musical accompaniment. Soloists included Nina Bergeron ’18, Grace Breakfield ’18 and Gina Mercurio ’18. Karen Merritt Luebbert ’60, Chair of the IWA Board of Trustees, served as emcee for the ceremony.
Sister Margaret Snyder, CCVI, from the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word General Leadership Team, administered the oath of installation to both Mr. McKenzie and Mrs. Lovette. Dr. Bernadette O’Connor, U.S. Ministry Council Representative from the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, presented the new leadership team with special gifts from the Congregation. After a closing prayer led by Ally Reichart ’18, all guests were invited to a brunch reception in the Multi-Purpose Room.
