CELL PHONE AND APPLE (TECH) WATCHES / Any Technologically Portable Device
Cell phones are a distraction to the learning environment and may only be used before school, after school, and between classes. During the school day, students must place phones and smartwatches in the designated area in each homeroom, classroom, and Open Lab; during lunch, phones must remain in backpacks and may not be seen or heard. Students may not take phones to the restroom during class or Open Lab; the phone remains in the classroom or with the teacher/supervisor. Inappropriate use will result in confiscation and delivery to the Assistant Principal; to retrieve the phone, the student must pay a $25 fine or serve two detentions, with each subsequent confiscation increasing the fine by $25 and doubling the number of detentions. Photos or videos may not be taken during school hours without permission; devices may not be out in any class or Open Lab without teacher approval; music is not permitted without teacher approval; earbuds/AirPods may not be worn in class or Open Lab without teacher approval; and headphones are not to be used at any time during the school day.
