Varsity

Grandview High School CO April 9

After controlling the play and out shooting a very strong Grandwiew team 16 - 5 the game was tied in regulation. We proceeded directly to Pks. IWA won in Penalty Kicks

Union Heights April 10

IWA played a terrific game and won 2 - 0. Katye put the Red Knights up with an assist from Kelley. Kelley scored the second goal and was assisted by Kenzie.

Cherry Creek CO

IWA scored quickly in the first half with a goal by Kelley. Cherry Creektied the game in the second half. Mel got the game winner and was assisted by Kristine.

Nerinx April 14

IWA defeats Nerinx with a goal from Kenzie and assisted by Maggie

St. Louis Varsity Classic April 16 - 17

Shawnee Mission East

IWA tied Shawnee with an early goal by Mel

Shawnee was fortunate to capitalize on a miscommunication in the back.

Jenks April 17

Jenks dominated the majority of the play and beat the Red Knights with a score of 2- 0.

Broken Arrow

IWA was out 6 starters but the team played with a lot of Heart and lost 1 to 0

Hazelwood West April 20

IWA controlled the play and out shot Hazelwood West 16 - 5. IWA won 1 to 0.

Fort Zumwalt West April 21

FZW scored early in the game off a corner. The Red Knighis had plenty of chances but could not find the back of the net.

St. Dominic April 23

St. Dominic scored in the first four minutes of the game. The Red Knights rallied and scored off a throw in from McKenzie. Erinadded to the tally off another throw in.

Natalie scored the third goal for the Red Knights offa kick taken by Kristine. After an initial scramble, Natalie eventually put the ball in the back of the net.

Visitation April 28

IWA Against Viz Mel Scored in first half. Viz Scored in Second half. IWA wins in Pks Jodi is Awesome!

Lafayette May 4

IWA beat Lafayette 1 to 0. Julia Kohnen scored, Sarah Doggendorf got the assist.

Junior Varsity

Ursuline Academy April 7

The JV soccer team opened its seasontoday at IWA with three first-half goals by Lauren Pratt, Allie Zeilman and Haley Meyer and went on to beat Ursuline 3-1.

Francis Howell North April 13

Allie Zeilman's two first-half goals and Erin Zickel's three second-half goals propelled the IWA JV team to a solid 6-0 win over visiting Francis Howell North. Lauren Hayes delivered three assists out of the back and Jamie Helfer earned the shutout in goal as the Red Knights moved their record to 2-0. Freshman forward Adalie Schmidt closed out the scoring with her first goal of the year off of a corner kick late in the second half.

 Nerinx Hall April 14

The second day of back-to-back games didn't treat the JV Red Knights well as IWA lost its first match of the season 1-0 on the road at Nerinx Hall. The Red Knights piled up nine shots against in the first half, but only allowed one shot against in the second half. The Red Knights were unable to convert several second-half opportunities of their own.

Hazelwood West April 20

Three first-half goals were all the JV Red Knights needed as they earned a 3-2 victory on the road at Hazelwood West on Tuesday. Freshman Adalie Schmidt scored two goals, while sophomore Erin Zickel recorded the third as the Red Knights outshot Hazelwood West 17-2 on the afternoon.

 Fort Zumwalt West April 21

Freshman Adalie Schmidt sparked the JV Red Knights' return home with three first-half goals to lead IWA to a 4-0 win over Fort Zumwalt West on Wednesday afternoon. Sophomore Erin Zickel completed the scoring in the second half when she headed home a corner kick from sophomore Allie Zeilman.

 Visitation Academy April 28 

Sophomore captains Lauren Pratt and Megan Tracy combined for the JV Red Knights' first goal, setting the tone as IWA rolled to a 4-0 victory over the visiting Vivettes of Visitation Academy on Wednesday afternoon.

The play started when Pratt's head ball across the box found Tracy on the left side, who made no mistake with her shot as she buried her right-footed shot low into the corner.

Freshman Adalie Schmidt and sophomore Allie Zeilmann's second-half goals broke the game open, while freshman Nikki Paasch's first goal of the season closed out the day's scoring as she neatly tucked in her break-in goal on a great feed from sophomore Erin Zickel. Zickel assisted on two IWA goals and goalies Jamie Helfer and Jenna Buchheit teamed up for the shutout.

Lafayette May 4

Sophomore goalkeeper Jenna Buchheit celebrated her 16th birthday in style with a game-saving diving stop with just two minutes remaining to preserve a 1-0 victory for the JV Red Knights on the road at Lafayette on Tuesday afternoon. Buchheit dove to her left in a crowded penalty box and her outstretched hand tipped just past the post what would have been a late game-tying goal. Freshman Nikki Paasch provided the lone goal for IWA when she struck midway through the first half for her second goal in as many a games. Paasch received a pass on the right side from fellow freshman Haley Meyer and she quickly beat a couple of Lancers defenders to get inside the penalty box before finding the side netting with her left-footed shot. The win marked the Red Knights’ third consecutive shutout.

 St Joseph's Academy May 6

The JV Red Knights earned a hard fought 1-1 tie on the road against rival St. Joseph's Academy on Thursday afternoon. Freshman Adalie Schmidt put the Red Knights up 1-0 with an early first-half goal. St. Joseph's Academy tied the game late in the half. Both teams battled to a scoreless draw in the second half.

Fort Zumwalt South May 10

The JV Red Knights battled the elements to take home a 1-0 road win over Fort Zumwalt South during a rain-shortened game Monday afternoon.

IWA swarmed Fort Zumwalt South from the opening whistle in the rain-soaked affair, and finally cashed in when freshman Megan Whitehead found the back of the net midway through the first half.

The play started when sophomore defender Lauren Hayes moved up into the attack and saw her run deep to the corner rewarded with a pass from freshman midfielder Haley Meyer. Hayes took the pass to the end line and served a low right-footed drive into a crowded penalty box.

The ball eventually made its way through the traffic to Whitehead who scooped up the loose ball and drilled it home to give IWA the only goal it would need. The Red Knights didn’t allow a shot on goal as goalkeepers Jamie Helfer and Jenna Buchheit again combined to record a shutout.

Althoff May 13

Sophomore captains Megan Tracy and Lauren Pratt provided the scoring punch as the JV Red Knights knocked off Althoff 2-0 at McKendree University in Lebanon, Ill., on Thursday afternoon.

Tracy broke the scoreless game open midway through the second half when she uncorked a blistering shot from 30 yards out, beating the Althoff goalie just under the crossbar.

IWA added to its lead less than 10 minutes later when sophomore Erin Zickel swiveled past her defender on the right sideline and found Pratt in the penalty box. Pratt drove home the cross with her right foot to seal the victory.

Goalkeeper Jamie Helfer garnered the shutout and the IWA defense failed to yield a shot on goal for the second-consecutive game.

Duchesne April 5

Our first game… We came out of the gates playing hard and Katlyn Hunkins scored our first goal within 5 minutes. Elissa Kuhn and Katie Haarmann gave beautiful crosses and were finished by Erica Brown and Sarah Skrivan. Our goalie Breezy only touched the ball once during the game.

St. Dominic April 8

2-0

The first half St. Dominic had us playing their game. We allowed them to play kick and run, but we were able to hold them to 0 goals in the first half. The second half belonged to us. We played our possession game and worked our combinations up the field and ended up scoring 2 goals off rebounded shots. Breezy had three saves.

Ursuline April 9

Our third game in a week and hardest thus far. Ursuline was extremely fast and was hard on the ball all over the field. It was a back and forth game for the entire 60 minutes. Breezy had eight saves. We ended up on top of the score, but the game could have gone either way. Ursuline was the toughest team we had faced, but we were able to finish on rebounded shots and a dead ball around 20 yards out by Mandi Timmermann.

Nerinx April 14

0-2

Nerinx out played us all over the field. They had extremely fast forwards and great ball strikers. We had a bad game and Nerinx capitalized.

Hazelwood West April 20

7-0

We kept control of the entire game while holding Hazelwood West to 0 shots on goal. Everyone on the team had a great game.

Pattonville April 23

This was our first game in the Pattonville Tournament played at the SportPort. The field conditions were not great, and Pattonville came out hard but IWA kept control of the ball and found the net. Breezy had four saves.

Fort Zumwalt East April 24

Our game was at 830 am and it began a little slow, but once we finished our first goal we began to wake up. Fort Zumwalt East came out with a lot of energy, but could not stop IWA when the entire team got involved in the offense receiving goals from the defense to the forwards. Breezy had three saves.
