IWA Kicks off the 2008-2009 School Year
Classes resumed at Incarnate Word Academy on August 21, 2008. and campus is alive with activity. 551 future Women of the Word were welcomed back by members of the IWA Student Council at their annual “Back to School Kick Off Party.” Students were greeted on the upper parking lot with music, smiles and free pencils. The campus was alive with excitement as girls shared details of their summer adventures and discussed the upcoming events of the school year.

Incarnate Word Academy is excited to announce the renovation of their website. The new website was re-launched on August 18, 2008. The website is now easier to navigate, supplies more extensive information, and provides innovative networking opportunities for alumnae. It is even easier to stay connected with what's going on at The Word!

IWA Welcomes the Class of 2011 and their Parents
Incarnate Word Academy was proud to welcome the 110 members of the class of 2011 and their parents to Freshman Orientation. Orientation began on Sunday, August 17th with get-to-know-you games and a family BBQ. In the week of orientation that followed, the newest generation of Women of the Word were shown the ins and outs of the modular schedule, got familiar with campus, and celebrated a special mass together. On August 26, 2008, the welcoming celebration continued at the IWA New Parent Dinner. Here parents of freshman and transfer students were invited to dine with IWA faculty and staff and learn even more about what makes The Word such a special place to be.

Welcome to the IWA Jungle!
Incarnate Word Academy's 2008 Homecoming Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, September 20, 2008. The theme is “Welcome to the Jungle.” The Class of 1958 will be honored as their years “Golden Girls” and will serve as the Grand Marshalls of the traditional Homecoming Parade.
