After graduating from Incarnate Word Academy Patricia traveled to Peru. She was five years old the last time she had been in South America. Once she was back in the United States, Patricia’s art became an exploration of her Peruvian background. Patricia graduated from Fontbonne University in 1996 with a BFA in Painting and a BA in English. In 1998, Patricia began teaching drawing and design at Ladue Horton Watkins High School. During the last nine years, Patricia has exhibited mixed media paintings and drawing at: the St. Louis Artist Guild, Art St. Louis, Forest Park Community College, Meramec Art Gallery and the Millstone Gallery. She has participated in the VOICES program, through Art St. Louis, which brings Hispanic artists into area schools. Patricia also brought art into her community by participating in installation projects through the Skinker-DeBaliviere Community Arts Council. She acknowledges her high school art teacher, Maria Allen-Koerner, as her inspiration as a teacher and an artist.
