Mission Statement
The Incarnate Word Academy Physical Education Department strives to promote healthy lifestyles through fitness education and activities.
Mrs. Mary Nahm has been teaching Physical Education at IWA since 1987 and currently chairs the Physical Education Department. She holds a B.S. in Physical Education from Quincy University and a M.Ed. from the University of Missouri – St. Louis as well as a Missouri lifetime teaching certificate for Physical Education and Health, K – 12. In addition she is certified by both the American Red Cross and the American Heart Association to teach CPR and First Aid. Mrs. Nahm is the varsity tennis coach and co-moderator of the Incarnate Word Academy chapter of the National Honor Society.
This is Ms. Erin Hesselbach’s first year at IWA. She is a proud alum from the class of 2000. Ms. Hesselbach holds a B.S. in Kinesiology and a minor in Health from Indiana University. Prior to coming to IWA, she taught for two years in Bloomington, IN.
