Mission Statement

The Counseling Department is committed to facilitating personal and academic confidence. We assist students with choices that will shape their development and integration into our multicultural society.  We have a comprehensive guidance program that meets the standards of the American School Counseling Association.



Ann Bradford

Ann Bradford holds a Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Missouri, St. Louis.  She graduated from College of St. Mary with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with a Secondary Education certificate.  Ms. Bradford’s vocation to Catholic education has yielded 15 years of teaching Math to 5th-12th graders in Omaha and St. Louis including two years at IWA. Since November of 2005, Ms. Bradford has enjoyed providing guidance to the students of IWA.  Ms. Bradford works students last name L-Z.  She facilitates the Senior Peer Leaders Group and is a moderator for the STAR Program.



Julie Hayes

Julie Hayes earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Southeast Missouri State University. She has a life-time teaching certificate in Elementary Education (grades 1-8) and is also certified in Religious Education. Mrs. Hayes has twenty-four years of teaching experience at St. Sabina Catholic School. She taught for fourteen years as a self-contained 2nd and 4th grade classroom teacher and an additional ten years as a Reading Resource teacher for grades K through 8th. She is a trained facilitator for the Rainbows Program; this program assist young people dealing with death or divorce within their families. Mrs. Hayes is a current member of the Learning Disabilities Association.


Rose Sumpter

Rose Sumpter is one of two counselors on staff at Incarnate. She works with students last names A-K. She graduated from Benedictine College with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and went on to get her Masters in Counselor Education from Missouri Baptist University. Mrs. Sumpter is a member of both the American Counseling Association and the American School Counseling Association. She is also a professional member of the Missouri Association for College Counseling and works closely with the group in setting up the Incarnate College Fair.

Mrs. Sumpter was formerly the golf coach at Incarnate and is currently moderator of the Senior Peer Leader Program and Culture Club. She enjoys being active, spending time outdoors and traveling. She has even taken her culture club students overseas to Italy and Greece. Mrs. Sumpter loves working at Incarnate and has worked in the catholic education system for seven years.
