Mission Statement
The mission of the Business Education Department is to prepare students for success in the use of technology by offering courses in a wide variety of software applications. We also strive to prepare students to be financially responsible.
Christine Claxton

Christine Claxton earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from Lindenwood University in 2006. Her undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science in Management and Information Systems from Tarkio University. In addition, Ms. Claxton earned an Associate Degree in Applied Science in Criminal Justice Administration at Florissant Valley Community College. After working 19 years at Boeing in a variety of positions including Group Manager in Facilities Services, Procurement Agent, and Security Representative, she decided to pursue a life-long ambition - a career in teaching. Ms. Claxton is certified in Business Education and Family and Consumer Science. She lives in Hazelwood with Mike, her husband of 23 years, daughter Sophie, and Louie, a very spoiled cat.

Carolyn Friedhoff

Carolyn Friedhoff attended high school in Leopold, Missouri. She received an AA degree from St. Mary’s Junior College, O’Fallon, Missouri, and a BA in Business Education with a minor in Secondary Education from Fontbonne University. She earned a Chancellor’s Certificate on the Computer with an emphasis on Web Design and Graphic Design applications from the University of Missouri, St. Louis. Mrs. Friedhoff is the mother of four, three of whom are IWA alumnae.

Mrs. Taylor is the Registrar and Business Education Chair. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Education with Shorthand and fifteen hours in Computer Science. Mrs. Taylor has been included in Teachers of America.
