Model United Nations serves to introduce students to international politics through discussion and debate.  Students represent different countries and advocate for those countries at forums and conferences with students from other schools. The IWA Model UN club attends conferences around St. Louis and the Midwest.  At each conference, students submit resolutions patterned after those presented at the United Nations, and attempt to pass or defeat resolutions (depending on their country’s policies) through debate and diplomacy.  The club meets once a week to discuss current events, practice debate, and prepare for upcoming conferences.
